Raw Hair

Raw hair has not been chemically processed or coloured. It keeps its natural strength and texture and usually lasts the longest, but it comes in natural shades only.

Non Remy Hair

Human Hair vs Synthetic Hair

Human hair looks the most natural, can be heat styled and lasts the longest. Synthetic hair costs less and keeps its style without effort, but most synthetic fibres melt or frizz under high heat and wear out faster with daily use.

A simple way to decide: if you will wear extensions several times a week or want to style them with heat, choose human hair. If you want a style for occasional events or want to test a new length first, synthetic hair is a good starting point.

Styling Human Hair Extensions

Always apply a heat protection spray before using hot tools, and keep curling irons and straighteners at a medium temperature. Human hair extensions do not get natural oils from your scalp, so they can dry out faster than your own hair. A few drops of a light serum on the mid lengths and ends keeps them soft. Curl or straighten your own hair and the extensions together for the most seamless blend.

Can You Colour Human Hair Extensions?

Human hair can be toned or coloured darker by a professional colourist. We do not recommend bleaching or lifting the colour, because extensions have already been processed and can become dry and brittle. It is always better to choose the right shade from the start. Balayage, ombre and highlighted shades are available if you want a multi tone look.

Washing and Care Routine

1. Detangle gently from the ends upwards with a soft brush.
2. Wash in cool water with a sulphate free shampoo, smoothing downwards rather than scrubbing.
3. Apply conditioner from the middle to the ends and leave it for a few minutes.
4. Rinse, pat dry with a towel and let the hair air dry flat or hanging.
5. Brush once dry and store in a box or silk bag away from humidity.

Wash every 10 to 15 wears, or sooner if you use a lot of styling products.

How Long Do Human Hair Extensions Last?

The lifespan depends on how often you wear them and how you care for them. With regular wear and a good routine, human hair extensions usually last from several months to more than a year. Remy and raw hair tend to last the longest because the cuticles stay intact. Heat, sun, chlorine and sleeping in extensions are the main things that shorten their life.

Human Hair in the UAE Climate

Sun, dry air conditioning and summer humidity all affect hair. Keep human hair extensions moisturised with a weekly conditioning treatment, use a serum or leave in spray with UV protection when you are outdoors, and avoid leaving them in a hot car. Rinse them after a day at the beach or pool and condition straight away.

How to Spot Good Quality Human Hair

• Thick ends: good hair stays full from top to bottom instead of thinning to a few strands at the ends.
• Smooth in both directions: run your fingers up the hair. Remy hair feels smooth, while poor hair feels rough or catches.
• Natural shine: real hair has a soft sheen. A very glassy shine often means a heavy silicone coating.
• Little shedding: a few loose hairs are normal at first, but constant shedding means a weak weft.

Choosing Length and Weight in Human Hair

Human hair is heavier than synthetic hair, so weight matters more. For fine hair, 100 to 120 grams adds natural volume without strain. Medium hair suits 140 to 160 grams, and thick hair or very long lengths may need 180 grams or more. Choose a length at least 4 inches longer than your own hair, and remember that longer lengths need more grams to look full at the ends.
