How to Buy the Right Hair Extensions Online
Buying hair extensions online can feel confusing at first. There are clip-ins, halos, ponytails, toppers and braiding hair, in human hair and synthetic hair, in dozens of lengths and shades. This guide explains the differences in plain words, so you can choose the right style the first time.
Every product in our hair extension shop is temporary and reusable. Nothing is glued, taped or sewn in, so you can wear your extensions for a day or an evening and take them out at night with no damage to your own hair.
Temporary Hair Extensions vs Salon Extensions
Salon methods such as tape ins, keratin bonds and micro rings are attached by a stylist and stay in for weeks. They look great, but they cost more, need regular maintenance appointments and can strain your hair if they are not fitted and removed correctly.
Temporary hair extensions are the opposite. You put them in yourself in a few minutes, wear them when you want and take them out before bed. There is no appointment, no maintenance cost and no waiting time. For most women who want longer or fuller hair for work, weddings or weekends, temporary styles are the simplest and safest choice.
The Main Types of Hair Extensions
Clip-in Hair Extensions
Wefts of hair with small snap clips. A full head set adds length and volume all over and takes about ten minutes. Best if you want the most natural blend and full control over placement. Shop clip-in hair extensions.
Halo Hair Extensions
One weft on a clear wire that sits on your crown. It goes on in about a minute with no clips pulling on your hair. Best for beginners and fine hair. Shop halo hair extensions.
Ponytail Extensions
A ready made ponytail that wraps or ties around your own. The fastest way to get a long, full ponytail for events. Shop ponytail extensions.
Clip-in Bangs and Toppers
A fringe or a crown piece that clips in at the front or top of the head. Best for changing your look or adding volume where hair is thinnest. Shop clip-in bangs.
Braiding Hair
Pre-stretched hair, crochet braids, twists and locs for protective styles, installed by you or your braider. Shop braiding hair.
Human Hair or Synthetic Hair Extensions?
After the type of extension, this is the most important choice.
- Human hair looks and moves like your own, can be washed, curled and straightened, and lasts the longest. It costs more, but if you wear extensions often it gives the best value over time. See all human hair extensions.
- Synthetic hair is lighter on the budget, comes pre styled and keeps its wave or curl even in humidity. It is ideal for trying a new look or for occasional wear, but most synthetic hair should not be heat styled unless it is labelled heat resistant.
A simple rule: if you will wear your extensions more than twice a week, choose human hair. If you want a style for a few special occasions, synthetic hair is a smart way to start.
Choosing Length, Weight and Texture
Length
Choose extensions at least 4 inches longer than your own hair for a smooth blend. If your hair is shoulder length, 18 to 20 inches looks natural. For a dramatic look, 22 to 26 inches works best on hair that is already past the shoulders.
Weight
Heavier sets give more volume, but they also put more weight on your hair. If your hair is fine, choose lightweight hair extensions of around 100 to 120 grams, or look at our extensions for thin hair. Thick hair usually needs a fuller set to blend.
Texture
Match the texture to how you wear your hair most often. Straight hair extensions suit sleek styles, body wave suits blow dried hair, and curly or kinky textures suit natural curls. Browse curly and wavy hair extensions if your hair has a natural pattern.
How to Match Your Shade
Match extensions to the ends of your hair, because that is where your hair and the extensions meet. Look at your hair in natural daylight near a window, not under bathroom lights. If your hair has highlights or balayage, a blended shade will look more natural than a single solid colour.
If you are between two shades, the darker one usually blends better on dark hair and the lighter one on blonde hair. You can also send a daylight photo on WhatsApp and our team will suggest the closest shade before you order.
Seamless and Lightweight Options
In warm weather, comfort matters. Seamless PU clip-ins use a thin, flat strip instead of a lace weft, so they lie close to the head and are hard to see even when your hair moves. Halos have no clips at all. One piece clip-ins and individual pieces let you add volume only where you need it, such as the back or the sides, without wearing a full set.
Making Your Hair Extensions Last
- Brush gently from the ends upwards with a soft or loop brush before and after every wear.
- Always take extensions out before sleeping, swimming or the gym.
- Wash human hair every 10 to 15 wears with a sulphate free shampoo and let it air dry.
- Use heat protection before styling human hair, and keep synthetic hair away from high heat.
- Store pieces flat in their box or a silk bag, away from humidity and sun.
With this routine, human hair pieces can last many months and synthetic pieces can be worn again and again.
Hair Extensions for Weddings and Events
Weddings, henna nights, graduations and Eid are the moments when most women want longer, fuller hair. For a bridal or event look, plan ahead:
- Order your extensions at least a week before the event so you can practise placement and styling.
- Take them to your hair trial, so your stylist can cut and curl them together with your own hair.
- For updos and buns, a full clip-in set or a wrap around ponytail gives the most volume.
- For long, loose waves, a halo or body wave clip-ins look soft and natural in photos.
Common Mistakes When Buying Hair Extensions Online
- Choosing a shade under artificial light. Always compare in daylight.
- Going too long too soon. Extensions much longer than your own hair are harder to blend.
- Ignoring weight. A heavy set on fine hair shows the clips and feels uncomfortable.
- Mismatching texture. Straight extensions in curly hair, or the reverse, always look obvious.
- Opening the pack before checking the shade. Compare the hair through the packaging first, since opened hair cannot be returned.

Buying Hair Extensions: Questions and Answers
Can hair extensions be worn every day?
Yes. Clip-ins, halos and ponytails can be worn daily, as long as you take them out at night and give your hair a rest day now and then.
Which hair extensions are easiest for a first time user?
A halo is the easiest because it has no clips. A one piece clip-in is a close second and takes about a minute.
Can I wear hair extensions with a hijab?
Yes. Many women wear clip-ins or a low ponytail under a hijab for volume at the back, or a light fringe at the front. Lighter pieces let the scarf sit smoothly.
How much hair do I need for a full look?
One full set of clip-ins, usually 7 to 10 pieces, is enough for most women. Very thick hair may need two sets in the same shade.
Can I mix human hair and synthetic pieces?
You can, but they behave differently. Human hair can be heat styled while most synthetic hair cannot, so it is easier to keep one type in each look.
Do you deliver outside Dubai?
Yes. We deliver to all seven emirates. Dubai orders usually arrive in 1 to 2 working days and other emirates in 2 to 3 working days.
Can I return hair extensions if the shade is wrong?
Unopened items can be returned within 7 days of delivery. For hygiene reasons, hair that has been opened or worn cannot be returned, so check the shade before opening.
